About Berkat Foundation

Our Story: How Berkat Began

Berkat Foundation began through a series of relationships and experiences that gradually came together over time.

In the community where we serve, many women and children face daily challenges shaped by poverty, lack of opportunity, and social isolation. Some women carry financial burdens with little access to education or job skills, while others have experienced exploitation or difficult life circumstances.

Children often lack consistent supervision, safe environments, and access to ongoing education, spending much of their time in public spaces.

Over time, different individuals—both local and international—found themselves drawn to this same community. Some had been faithfully serving for years through simple acts of care, conversation, and practical support. Others came with backgrounds in counseling, education, and community development.

What began as separate efforts slowly became a shared vision. Each had seen the same needs and felt the same pull to respond.

As relationships grew and trust was built, it became clear that long-term change would require more than occasional outreach. It would require consistency, safe spaces, and opportunities for growth.

Berkat was formed from this shared commitment—to walk alongside women and children not just in moments of need, but over time.
